Steel Wire Drawing
Enlargement
- The program solves all the problems connected with the drawing of the steel. With certain variations can be extended to any metal.
The more important characteristics of the program are:
- 1.1. Problems that deals with the raw materials, tools and standards.
- 1.1.1. It allows (and requires) the construction and modification of files that contains.
- :: The standards or catalogues of rod diameters.
- :: The standards and/or catalogues of complete chemical composition of the rods…
- :: The mechanical and electrical characteristics of the drawing machines. (Block diameter, type of motors (AC/DC), maximum inlet and minimum outlet diameters, number of drafts…etc).
- :: The creation of files with standarized series of diameters that reduces the need of dies stocks.
- :: The file with the variation of strengths versus area reduction for all the type of steels, including microalloyed steels.
- 1.1.2. With this information, the program calculates:
- The die diameters, necessary power in the motors, speeds, strength in any draft, taking into account:
- :: If he machine is AC or DC driven, and the class of lubrication.
- :: The minimum area reduction per draft.
- :: The possibility of to obtain different final diameters from an unique inlet diameter.
- :: If necessary, the program, automatically or manually, reduces:
- :: The number of drafts, in the AC motors or in the DC with a determinated speed (if the first motors are run over the maximum speed for every motor).
- :: The speed in the DC machines if the maximum speed is reached in any motor.
- :: The drafts may be of constant value, or decreasing in order to obtain constant power consumption in every draft.
- 1.1.3. All the results are saved in files and can be listed for every class of product.
- 1.2. Problems connected with the final product.
The principal aim is to obtain the most economical fabrication process.
- 1.2.1. According with the characteristics, a previous classification is made in the introduction of the programs according with strength, surface and elongation. The aim is the determination of the steel to use.
- 1.2.2. The steels considered are:
- :: Medium and high carbon steel, with the use of rod without patenting or with patenting.
- :: Mild carbon steels with rimmed or killed steel and of electric or converter origin.
- :: Microalloyed steels instead of high C content in certain cases.
- 1.2.3. If possible, it’s used the drawing over previously galvanized wire instead of the more expensive final galvanizing.
- 1.2.4. For the determination of the process is considered:
- :: The available rod and steels.
- :: The existing machines and the surface coating and heat treatment plants characteristics.
- :: The required characteristics of the final product.
- :: The state of the art in the drawing technique.
- :: The user can select between the possibilities of increase the total section reduction or the C content in the most complicated cases.
- :: The fabrication process gives the expected medium and extremes strengths.
- 1.3. With all this considerations, gives the more convenient fabrication process, that includes:
- :: Specifications for the available raw material.(diameter, composition.. etc). Necessary heat treatment (Stelmor, patented, annealed, etc..)
- 1.4. The different process are saved classified by surface and standards.
